Saeed Ajmal |
LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shahryar Khan on Saturday disclosed that Pakistan’s spin magician Saeed Ajmal has decided to withdraw himself from the forthcoming cricket World Cup.
In an interview with BBC Urdu, Chairman PCB said that Saeed Ajmal will announce his withdrawal from the World Cup squad at a press conference in a day or two.
Shahryar Khan further said it was Saeed Ajmal’s own decision not to undergo bio-mechanic test, adding that experts were helping the spinner to re-model his bowling action but he was not ready to undergo any test.
“Saeed Ajmal is practicing with Saqlain Mushtaq and he needs more time to rectify his bowling action”, Shahryar said.
Commenting on Muhammad Hafeez’s bowling action, Shahryar said the all-rounder will soon visit Indian city, Chennai for an informal test after which the International Cricket Council would be asked to examine Hafeez’s bowling action.
He expressed hope that Muhammad Hafeez will pass both the tests.
